The finest "Road" movie since
Rating: As much as I'd like to give it a Gosh-a-Rooty! for auld lang syne, it doesn't quite make it. I do think it's a solid Neat-O, no matter what the critics think,
Starring Kenneth Branagh as a slightly more altruistic Bob (called Miguel here for some reason), Kevin Kline as a slightly more mercenary Bing (aka Tulio), and Rosie Perez as Ida (Chel).
The animation was spectacular, but that's par for the course nowadays, and I kvelled to see the pat-a-cake routine again, even if they felt they had to update it a tad. It was interesting that the evil high priest in The Road to El Dorado is actually sincere; evil, but an actual believer in his religion, which made for some nice moments, and at least one belly-laugh. I went to see it with my sister and her husband, neither of whom had ever seen a Crosby/Hope flick, and they both liked it, so I don't think it's for nostalgia buffs only.
I don't know if I'm going to want it on DVD, but I do know I wouldn't mind seeing it again.
