I can understand being busy at work. Hopefully you'll find some time soon to write more entries. I enjoy what you've done here. Tell me, Joshua. What is your experience with Latin? Take some courses in college? Perhaps you were a JCLer at one point in time?
Posted by: Jimmy at March 19, 2005 07:09 PMI hope to. One looming change is that after the dust settles at work, I'll be working from home a lot, which should free up some time because of the reduced commute.
I took two years of Latin in High School, and have been struggling with learning it by myself on and off since then. Since I have no idea what a JCLer is, I doubt I was one. To me JCL means Job Control Language...
Posted by: Joshua at March 21, 2005 03:12 PMHeh! Learning Latin by yourself must be a challenge. It was hard enough when I had class. I must say you're doing very well, if you know half of the information on this site. Regarding JCL, it's the Junior Classical League, a branch of the American Classical League. JCL is home of many a high school Latin geek including myself at one time. JCL holds a national convention for Latin students to compete in various contests, including academics, sports, and creative arts. Check out http://www.njcl.org for more info. If there's anything I can do to help with your Latin edification, drop me a line. I miss this stuff.
